Dear Sir,
You may wish to update your information in your database of the Wittelsbachs in relation to Franz Hans Leopold Maria Wittelsbach, Prinz von Bayern (where “Prinz von Bayern” is an official last name and not a hereditary title, according to German Law of August 1919).
Franz Hans Leopold Maria Wittelsbach, Prinz von Bayern (he ceased using “Prinz” during WWII) was born in Bistritz am Hostein, Czechoslovak Republic on March 10, 1919, died on October 24, 1999 in Freiwaldau Czech Republic. He is buried in Jauernig, Czech Republic. He was the only child of Georg Franz Joseph Luitpold Maria, Prinz von Bayern (1880-1943) and Josepha Zapletal (1880-1941).  He married Irene Repnak (born December 12, 1919 and died in 1994) on April 26, 1941.
They had three children together. Maria Josepha Wittelsbach, Prinzessin von Bayern born in 1941 in Ratibor. Georg Anders Luitpold Maria Wittelsbach, Prinz von Bayern born in 1945 in Ratibor and Franz  Anders Georg Luitpold Maria Wittelsbach, Prinz von Bayern born on July, 29 1948 in Jauernig.
All the children are married and have kids on their own. Maria has a son and a daughter and Georg has a daughter. Unfortunately, I do not have information about them. Franz Anders lived for while in the US and therefore I was able to get more info on him. He married Dahlia Winkler-Strasak (born October 10, 1946) on June 30, 1973 in Kremsier. They have three children, Markus Heinrich Franz Joseph Luitpold Maria Wittelsbach, Prinz von Bayern (born May 16, 1974 in Freiwaldau), Petra Franziska Irene Wittelsbach, Prinzessin von Bayern (born May 15, 1976 in Freiwaldau) and Barbara Franziska Irene Maria Wittelsbach, Prinzessin von Bayern (born February 12, 1982 in Kremsier).
Only Markus lives in the US. He is engaged to Miss Christina Lee Brennan (born June 6, 1976) of Escondido, California. [Gemäß der E-Mail von Gary Cohn vom 31-Mar-2008 ist diese Aussage unrichtig.]
All of them use also the last name “Zapletal” on some of their documents as a way to avoid public attention. Originally Franz Hans adopted the name of his mother while hiding from the Gestapo and Police during WWII. Later he kept on using the last name in order to protect himself and his family from communist in the former Czechoslovakia.

All of this data comes from the research of my fellow genealogists and me. The information above comes from the Czech Archives in Prague, The Wittelsbach House Archive in Munich, public records of New York State and State of Maryland.
Best Regards,
Pete Bungaard
